Position: Upholsterer

Location: Esher, KT10 8BL
Job Type: Full-time, Flexible hours may be possible. Immediate start.
Hours: Mon-Fri 8:00am–5pm, Opportunity for overtime.

Salary: Dependent on experience

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Furniture Upholsterer to join our talented team of craftsmen and women at Origins Design. We are an established business specialising in bespoke furniture design and manufacturing. The business is based on the SW London / Surrey border, where we have in-house production and manufacturing teams producing high-end, free standing and fitted bespoke furniture.

Job Requirements

Must have at least 5 years upholstery experience.
Ability to produce bespoke, high-end pieces of upholstery furniture.
Knowledge of all aspects of upholstery, including reupholstery.
Run jobs end-to-end: build method, upholstery execution, finishing and quality sign-off.
Experienced with deep buttoning.
Skilled in both traditional and modern upholstery techniques.
Working with a variety of materials, including leather.
Templating and cutting materials.
Have the ability to take accurate measurements and work out fabric quantities.
Manage upholstery stock and order supplies for the department.
Tacking, cutting, covering, and general tool operations.
Able to work to tight deadlines and use own initiative.
Maintain consistent quality checks and contribute to workshop best practice.
Upholstery sewing experience would be an advantage.
The candidate must be fluent in spoken and written English and must currently be living in and legally entitled to work in the UK.
